Head's Welcome
Welcome to St Matthew's Catholic Primary School.
On behalf of our children, staff and governors, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school website. Whether you are a current member of our school family or are considering joining us, I hope these pages give you a real sense of who we are and what makes St Matthew's such a special place to learn, grow and flourish.
At St Matthew's, we are committed to nurturing every child academically, spiritually and personally. Rooted in our Catholic faith, we strive to create a caring, inclusive community where every child feels valued, encouraged and inspired to achieve their very best.
Our mission is at the heart of everything we do:
I try to live like Jesus:
I love; I forgive; I pray.
'Come follow me' – Be the best that I can be.
This simple but powerful message guides our daily lives, encouraging our children to develop kindness, resilience, respect and a lifelong love of learning while growing in faith.
Our website provides a snapshot of life at St Matthew's. Here you will find practical information about our school, our curriculum, our dedicated staff, school life and the many opportunities we offer. More importantly, we hope it reflects the warmth, ambition and sense of community that visitors experience when they walk through our doors.
It is a privilege to serve as Headteacher of such a welcoming and supportive school. I feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside a talented and dedicated staff team, supportive governors, wonderful families and, above all, our enthusiastic, caring and hardworking children. Together, we work to ensure every child leaves St Matthew's with the knowledge, confidence and values they need for the next stage of their journey, carrying with them happy memories and lasting friendships.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. If you would like to learn more about our school or arrange a visit, we would be delighted to welcome you in person.
